Sensitive Skin Girls: THIS is the facial you’ve been waiting for.

I remember how finding Biologique Recherche products used to feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, so when I found out that Celebrity Lashes Spa in West Town, Chicago offers the most incredible Biologique Recherche facials, I knew I had to try it.

Biologique Recherche estheticians are trained at the Biologique Recherche Academy in Paris or at certified training centers worldwide. The brand is very selective about who can offer their treatments.

My aesthetician, Oksana, is from Ukraine, where she studied aesthetics for eight years before bringing her expertise to the U.S. three years ago.

Meet Oksana!

Her hands? Pure magic. I can tell within the first 1–2 minutes if a facial is going to be great and Oksana was fantastic. Her facial technique involved “skin-lifting” and “lymphatic drainage” massage, performed with specific, choreographed hand movements. Her hands moved like a wave, designed to sculpt, lift, and stimulate circulation through rhythmic, upward strokes.

Every product was carefully selected for my reactive skin. BR estheticians are trained to assess the “Skin Instant” the current condition of your skin in real time so every facial is customized based on your skin’s immediate needs, not just your skin type.

We started with the legendary Lotion P50 PIGM 400, known for its gentle exfoliation with ingredients like lactic acid and niacinamide to brighten without irritation. Next came the Toleskin Mask, packed with soothing agents like Tetrapeptide-15 and anti-inflammatory extracts to calm redness and restore the skin barrier. She followed with Colostrum VG serum, a hydrating formula rich in colostrum proteins and hyaluronic acid to deeply nourish and plump.

She also incorporated the Lait EV cleanser, a moisturizing milk cleanser that removes impurities while leaving the skin soft and comforted, and finished with Masque Visolastine+, a long-lasting hydrating mask with essential fatty acids and shea butter to lock in moisture. To seal everything in, she used Crème PIGM 400, a brightening cream designed to target dark spots and even skin tone with ingredients like vitamin C and wasabi extract.

Oksana used the term “cocktailing” to describe layering products and combining serums for maximum effect, based on the aesthetician’s deep understanding of how each formula works.

Sensitive skin girls, take note: you can achieve radiance without irritation when you're in the right hands.

MD Insider Tips:

  • BR facials focus heavily on lymphatic drainage, micro-stimulation, and sculpting. The movements are wave-like, rhythmic, and deeply intentional to encourage circulation and de-puffing without harsh pressure.

  • think I fell asleep within the first 15 minutes that’s how relaxed I felt. Oksana encouraged me to take this time to relax and be present in my body - so don’t feel bad if you fall asleep!

  • Not every spa can carry Biologique Recherche. Spas must meet strict standards, and estheticians must undergo official BR training, often in Paris or through BR-certified programs.

  • I recommend this facial once a month. I have to tell you, I looked so radiant and well-rested that evening and for the next few days. I already want to go back!

Xx,
Monika
